Assessment Of COVID-19 Virus Infection Among Patients With Atherosclerosis

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a global pandemic affecting 185 countries and 3000000 patient’s worldwide COVID-19 is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus which invades cells through the angiotensin-converting enzyme receptors among patients with COVID-19 there is a high prevalence of cardiovascular disease.   Patients and Methods :The data were collected from patients which had been recovered from covid -19 virus and they have to progress in the disease to have atherosclerosis and some of the patients had a sign and symptoms of COPD. A total of 125 patients were taken for this study were taken for this study including both sex male and female with different age groups all of them admitted to specialized surgical-cardiac center hospital in Erbil City in Iraq. All of them suspected to have atherosclerosis so they will be detected by angiograph in catheterization laboratory in the hospital. Conclusion: this study demonstrated that COVID-19 virus are also significant risk factors for coronary artery disease and patients who recovered from COVID-19 have had been suffered more from that increasing the severity of disease on them.

SDS-Page Analysis Of Cysticercus tenuicollis In Vitro And In Vivo In Basrah Province/ Southern Iraq

The larval stage Cysticercus tenuicollis was isolated from slaughtered sheep and goats at the Basrah slaughterhouse with 30 samples. In vitro 16 samples, 2 control, and 14 were treated with plant extracts and novel chemical compounds.   In vivo 14 sample,1 control and 13 treated with plant extracts and novel chemical compounds.. SDS- page electrophoresis using the gel as separation gel of larval stage Cysticercus tenuicollis. Lanes (C) control, (A) Syzygium aromaticum, (B) Capparis spinosa, novel acylselenourea, i.e., 4-Nitro-N-((4-(N-(pyrimidin-2-yl) sulfamoyl) phenyl) carbamoselenoyl) Benz amide (1), 4-Methyl-N-((4-(N-(pyrimidin-2-yl) sulfamoyl) phenyl) carbamoselenoyl) Benz amide (2), 4-Nitro-N-((4-nitrophenyl) carbamo selenoyl) Benz amide (4), N-(2,6-dioxo-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyrimidine-1-carbonoselenoyl)-4-nitrobenzamide (5) and novel acylthiourea 4-Methyl-N-((4-(N-(pyrimidin-2-yl) sulfamoyl phenyl) carbamothioyl) Benz amide (3).  The rats were administered plant extracts and synthesis compounds orally via mouth for 15 days, Then the rats were dissected, the cysts were isolated, and their SDS page was measured.The results found in in vitro, all plant extracts, and synthesized compounds bands ranged from 67 to 17KD. In contrast, the protein bands of cysts varied from 67 to 17KD in vivo whereas Capparis spinosa and the synthetic chemical (5) showed no bands.  This study recorded a clear effect on protein cotenants of C. tenuicollis which was treated with two plant extracts C. spinosa and S. aromaticum, and five novel chemical synthesized compounds in vitro and in vivo by SDS- PAGE as compared with untreated.

Assessment of Spring Water Quality Around Safeen Mountain Area in Iraqi Kurdistan region

The water quality index (WQI) was applied in 10 springs within Erbil governorate, Kurdistan region, in order to certain the quality of water for public consumption. In this study, water quality index was determined based on sixteen Physico-chemical parameters like pH, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids, turbidity, total alkalinity, total hardness, sulfate, chloride, nitrite, nitrate, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, dissolved oxygen, and biochemical oxygen demand. The relative weight assigned to each parameter ranged from 1 to 5, based on the important parameters for aquatic life and drinking purposes. Because water quality index is one of the most effective tools to communicate information on the quality of water to the concerned citizen and policymakers. The results indicated that the water quality of the springs is good except for site 3 and 9 are poor.

A Systemic Review of Trichomonas Vaginalis in Iraq

Systemic Trichomonas vaginalis is a single celled parasitic protozoan that’s moved by flagella (possess 5 flagella) and its habitat urogenital tract of both sex (female and male) and attached to the vaginal epithelium. It causes vaginitis in female and urethritis in men. This articles deals with the review for the epidemiological studies of this parasitic among different Iraqi province. For this purpose, several studies on Trichomonas vaginalis were collected among different governorates to determine and interpret the infection rates by this parasite. Sources of references including Iraqi academic and scientific journals, journal of Karbala university, International journal of advance research and European Scientific Journal. Research article related to the prevalence of T. vaginals among Iraqi people in period from (2013-2017) from different governorates of Iraq were studied in different cities and villages with different geographic distribution. Results of data analysis reveals the highest rate of infection by this parasite was in Baghdad (85.5%) during 2016 while lowest percentage of infection was (3.1%) in Erbil during 2015. It had concluded that geographical location of Iraqi governorates, population density, Tourist cities, industrial cities, education levels, personal hygiene, variation in the number of both gender throughout the Iraqi governorates and types of parasite diagnostic techniques having a basic role in the determination of the prevalence of the trichomoniasis in Iraq.
