Author Guidelines

Aims & Scope

PHAHS provides an open-access venue for scientifically rigorous articles across clinical and community pharmacy, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, pharmacy practice and education, toxicology, drug delivery, disease epidemiology, public health, occupational health, medical laboratory sciences, physiotherapy and the allied health sciences.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts must be double-spaced in 12-point font on 8.5×11″ pages with 1-inch margins, with all lines numbered and pages numbered consecutively in the upper-right corner. Use separate pages for the abstract, text, footnotes, references, appendixes, captions, tables and figures. Authors must not be identified anywhere in the text, including headers and footers, to preserve double-blind review.

Abstract

The abstract may not exceed 250 words and should be structured in four paragraphs: introduction/purpose/background, methods, results, and conclusion.

References (Vancouver style)

References follow the Vancouver style, cited with superscript Arabic numerals in the text. Journal title abbreviations must conform to the National Library of Medicine; include inclusive page numbers and format consistently according to the NLM Style Guide. Unpublished observations and personal communications may not be used as references.

Figures & Tables

Figures must be supplied in their original native file format, in separate files (not embedded), at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi (TIFF or JPEG). All tables and figures must be numbered and labelled, and permission must be obtained to publish any photos, datasets or other third-party material.

Peer Review

All submissions undergo double-blind peer review: initial editorial screening followed by assessment from two anonymous reviewers, who recommend rejection, revision or acceptance. Editors provide feedback, and authors may resubmit revised work before the final publication decision.

Plagiarism Policy

Submissions are screened with plagiarism-detection software. If at least 15% of the original submission is plagiarised, the journal has the right to reject the manuscript.
