Law Students Visit Erbil Adult Correctional Directorate as Part of Educational Trip

As part of its commitment to practical legal education, College of Law organized a scientific field trip for first-stage students from the Department of Law to the Erbil Adult Correctional Directorate – Kasnazan on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. The visit was conducted under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Halmat Mohammed, a lecturer in the Department of Law. The purpose of the visit was to provide students with firsthand insight into the internal operations of correctional institutions, particularly focusing on the management of prisons and rehabilitation processes for inmates serving prison sentences.

During the tour, students were introduced to the daily functioning of the correctional facility, the legal and administrative procedures involved in managing prisoners, and the various rehabilitation programs designed to reintegrate inmates into society. The Directorate staff emphasized the importance of vocational and psychological training to help prisoners return as productive, law-abiding citizens. The visit provided a valuable learning opportunity, allowing students to engage with real-world applications of criminal law and correctional management. It also served to inspire a deeper understanding of the societal role of legal professionals in ensuring justice and supporting rehabilitation.

Knowledge University continues to prioritize experiential learning through field visits, internships, and seminars, equipping its law students with the tools and insights necessary for a successful legal career.
